Never Give Up On Unbelievers

Never Give Up On Unbelievers Do you ever wonder if God cares about the people who don’t love him? While being a college student, I wondered this daily. I questioned, “Jesus, will my classmates ever know you?” I recently read through Psalm 62 and found encouragement, hope, and some answers.

The main point of the passage – we can never give up on others because God never gave up on us. (Tweet this!)

Many Biblical scholars believe the passage below (Isaiah 62:1-5 ESV) was written by Isaiah. If so, you can see Isaiah’s passion for the people around him to experience salvation. We must pray without ceasing for the unbelievers all around us just like Isaiah.

“For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not be quiet,
until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,
and her salvation as a burning torch.
The nations shall see your righteousness,
and all the kings your glory,
and you shall be called by a new name
that the mouth of the Lord will give.
You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord,
and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
You shall no more be termed Forsaken,
and your land shall no more be termed Desolate,
but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her,
    and your land Married;
for the Lord delights in you,
and your land shall be married.
For as a young man marries a young woman,
so shall your sons marry you,
and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride,
so shall your God rejoice over you.”

Scripture is written beautifully. I love this passage because it shows how much God loves mankind.

We will not keep silent until God’s light shines like a blazing torch and all the nations and Kings know God’s glory. We will not stop praying God will rename his children. Names like redeemed, forgiven, and chosen. Our unbelieving friends and family will become crowns of splendor in God’s hand. No longer will they be deserted or desolate. God will call them Hephzibal which means ‘my delight is in her’.

God’s delight is in you, me, and every single human he created.

God will be married to them. He will rejoice over them as if they were his bride. That is how encompassing God’s love is.

Friends, join me and agree to never stop praying for unbelievers because God promises to fight for their salvation. If you love and know Jesus, think about how he has changed your life. That change is one we need to desire to share with others. If you know an unbeliever who needs to know about the power of Jesus – share your story with them or send them mine.
